Midlife is a time when our experience and skills are peaking, but the world starts to ignore us, and our bodies feel like they’re turning against us. And no one seems to want to talk about it.

So many of our friends have asked: Where are the style stories for women over 40? Where can I read about other women’s experiences with menopause? How do I apply eye makeup with all this crinkly skin?

You’ll find all that and lots more here at Suggest. The site completed a top-to-bottom overhaul in September of 2022 to focus specifically on serving and celebrating midlife women. We hope we’ve created the lifestyle magazine for midlife women you’ve been looking for.

Outside of work, you’ll find her hunting for stylish kaftans and wine tasting in Sonoma County where she lives with her husband and daughter.

When she’s not scouting the best deals or studying the stars, Melanie is working on-air at her local NPR station and performing original folk-jazz music around the Midsouth area.

Carolyn Mitchell

Carolyn has worked as an SEO content writer and editor since 2019. Her experience in obtaining her M.A. and Ph.D. in Irish history and politics helped honed her research, writing, and analytical skills needed for crafting informative but entertaining content. A woman of varied interests, Brooke enjoys weightlifting just as much as finding a new favorite perfume or lipstick. Brooke has a journalism degree from Ohio University, and her preferred editing method involves listening to film scores and cuddling her dog, Pippa.
